A Collaboration Rooted in Innovation and Artistry

In a striking debut at Art Paris 2025 at the Grand Palais, Laclaux unveils a new edition of the Afterclub Armchair, upholstered in Manuel Canovas’ iconic Lazare silk. Meticulously woven on handlooms using pure hand-spun silk yarns, this luxurious fabric celebrates the innate beauty and craftsmanship of silk.

The armchair also features a pleated silk tail in Senso by Larsen — a collaborative creation with artist Tony Jouanneau. Hand-painted using the traditional Japanese Hikizome technique and shaped through the art of Shibori folding, the textile is transformed into a sculptural expression of contemporary craft and design.

Born from an encounter at the 2024 Paris Creation Prize, this collaboration is a testament to shared values of material innovation, artisanal excellence, and design-led creativity.
